Product Information: Apollo Seiko has recently patented an integrated solder tip with built-in Nitrogen. N2 gas is pumped directly into the iron unit cavity. Access holes in the upper portion of the allow the N2 gas to travel inside the iron tip and over the heater where it becomes pre-heated. The pre-heated N2 gas exits the iron tip directly over the tip via the integral sleeve which provides a very localized inert atmosphere and allows for localized pre-heating and overall lowering solder temperature which aids in extending tip life by up to 25%.
